Welcome to my first blog post!🥳

I’ve never made a blog before, but I’m super excited to give it a try. For my first post, I thought I’d share a bit about myself so you can get to know me and what to expect on this blog.

Stuff about me:

My name is Penelope, but you can call me Nellie/Nell/Pennie if you want to. I am 15 years old and I'm from Melbourne, Australia. I am in Year 10 at school (I am so scared 😭, I have to do so many exams this year). I've got one younger brother (he's 12 and just about to start Year 7). I don't really know what else but you can ask me questions in the comments!!

🎶🎧Music I like:

MUSICCCCC!!! SPOTIFY IS LIFEEEE - I have heapssss of fav bands and singers but I especially love Green Day, The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Riff Wood (plus a bunch more I can't think of right now). And yes I know that's a lot but I have a wide music taste so who cares🤷‍♀️

Songs I love are: I Wanna Be Yours, Happier Than Ever, Romantic Homicide, Daddy Issues (REAL😜🔫), When You Were Young (absolutely love this song rn), Teenage Dirtbag, Somewhere Only We Know (this song makes me cry almost everytime I listen to it) and Fat Funny Friend (depressing and relatable hahaha.).

🍿🎬Movies & Shows I like:

Okay I absolutely LOVEEE romcoms but only the older ones, like from the 90s-2010s. Especially 10 Things I Hate About You!! I also loveeee horror movies!! Some ones I watched recently that I loved were Fractured (on Netflix), Wolfman (bad name, good movie, just came out in cinemas), and Hereditary. Fractured absolutely fucked with my head and I loved it so muchhh, and Hereditary had the BEST jumpscares and it really freaked me out. (If anyone has any recommendations for movies like them, let me know because I need good movie recs!!). I also love a lot of action movies, The A-Team (2010), Die Hard and Speed are some of my favs.

I love a lot of TV shows too, especially The OC (old but amazing), Brooklyn 99, Gilmore Girls, The Good Place, Friends and Only Murders In The Building (OMITB).

📚📖Books I like:

I LOVE READINGGG - yes I am an absolute book nerd. I’ve read some books people might side-eye for my age, but hey, I love exploring different genres—no regrets!. One of my fav series would probably be the TWISTED series (I'm so excited for the show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), my fav couple would have to be either Rhys and Bridget or Josh and Jules. I am currently reading the Cruel Prince series (I'm up to the Queen of Nothing - NO SPOILERS). I am reading a dark romance book rn too, which I like a bit better, its called 'Her Soul to Take'. I only just started reading it but I might give up, I really need to finish the Cruel Prince series first!

I really love romance/romantasy/YA books so if anyone has any recs lmk!!

okay yuhhhh I don't think I really have anything else left about myself specifically but now I'm just gonna explain why I made this blog and what its mostly gonna be about:

I made this just to get my thoughts down. I feel kinda lonely most of the time, even though I have friends it just seems like they don't always want/need me so it'll be nice to have a space where I can just rant and connect with others.

I'll share book reviews, some movie recommendations, stories about what happens in my life and random thoughts or rants that pop into my head!!

Thanks for sticking with me through this long post—I had so much fun writing it, and I hope you enjoyed reading it! Some of my posts might be really short or just as long as this, it'll depend on my mood I guess lol!
